SUMMARY:The Ultra-trail Cape Town
DESCRIPTION:Ultra-trail Cape Town hosts a variety of trail races that traverse the beautiful mountain trails of the Cape Peninsula. Cape Town is a world-class destination that features on many trail runners’ bucket lists. The City is shaped by two oceans and Table Mountain National Park\, a dramatic mountain chain that stretches from Table Bay in the north to Cape Point in the south. UTCT offers a distance to suit every trail runner – 100 miler\, 100km\, 65km\, 35km and 21km. \nThe 100 miler takes participants from the northern mountain range of the Mother City to the more remote southern mountains\, taking in additional trails from Silvermine to Kalk Bay\, Kommetjie\, Simonstown and beyond\, covering 8 500m of vertical gain. \nThe other races traverse sections of the Northern mountain range including Table Mountain\, Lion’s Head\, Signal Hill\, Orangekloof\, Llandudno\, Hout Bay\, the Constantia Winelands\, upper slopes of Kirstenbosch Nature Reserve and Devil’s Peak\, which form part of the iconic natural world heritage site and one of the Natural Seven Wonders of the World. \nAll our races cover technical terrain with steep ascents and descents. The weather conditions can vary drastically\, despite the event taking place late November (summer in the Southern Hemisphere)\, with single-digit temperatures in the early morning on top of Table Mountain to 30 degrees plus during the latter part of the day. \nAll 5 events are genuine mountain excursions over some extremely technical trails and the necessary care\, respect and precautions must be taken when running within Table Mountain National Park and its surrounds.

SUMMARY:Sky Run
DESCRIPTION:The SkyRun 100 is unlike any other challenge on the South African racing calendar. Participants are required to be self-sufficient with regards to both navigation and gear all whilst tackling the remote terrain of the Witteberg Mountain range. \nArmed only with a Map & Compass or GPS unit and a back-pack containing all their food\, water and compulsory equipment that will enable them to survive in this harsh environment our athletes head forth into the unknown for 100km of life-changing racing. \nThe SkyRun 65 is a serious challenge for any aspiring ultradistance trail runner\, with the added complexity of being a self-supported\, self-navigational race. The participants enjoy the challenges of the SkyRun with regards to rugged terrain\, breath-taking views and serious climbs without the pressure of a daunting 100km to complete. The SkyRun 65 is an experience that should not be missed\, with a warm welcome waiting at the finish and a lifetime of memories to look back on. \nOn its own\, the The SkyRun 38km is a great run which will push athletes whilst allowing them to enjoy the thrills of mountain running in one of the most beautiful mountain playgrounds South Africa has to offer. In addition it is a great stepping stone to something bigger\, something like the Skyrun-65 or SkyRun 100
