Why we love what we do: Janine Faber’s 21km story

We all want to beat ourselves...
But Janine showed us what it really takes.

It started a while ago…

When we went to visit Janine Faber. We had a run with her, of course.

Janine, one of our clients, repeatedly tried to beat her 21km PB but could not manage to do so for about three years. She remembers, “I kept asking what I was doing wrong. I simply could not beat my previous time.”

So on our run while visiting, we noticed that she was running too fast… her heart rate was above her zone 2 requirement.

Right there we decided to be stricter on her, to run S L O W E R. You know, like those messages we usually send (some of) you, after weekend long runs. Janine followed our advice and took it real slow. What happened next was insane…

She smashed her 21km PB a few months later, by far!

“It took me almost three years before I believed this fully [low heart rate running]. If only I had listened to Coach Christiaan earlier… This is the biggest secret ever! People never believe it if you suggest it to them…” She now joyfully shares her story so that more people can be inspired.

Oh, we never mentioned it. Janine ran her 21km in 1:36:41, her previous time being 1:40:26. Now that is what we call #beatyesterday.
